Fusion can also produce a chimeric gene and a novel hybrid protein with carcinogenic potential. Finally, when fusion results in tumor suppressor gene truncation, it can lead to tumor occurrence.
The fusion probe consists of two colors, red fluorescence and green fluorescence. Each color is designed to hybridize with its own gene. When a normal cell displays color as a separate signal, a fused cell displays a signal less than a signal width. That is to say, the normal signal of fusion probe is two red and two green. When fusion occurs, the Yellow fusion signal will be displayed.
